The Zabel Property Group hosted the tenth anniversary conference of EREN - the European Real Estate Network - held in Berlin in September 2014. The network consists of 12 member organizations from five European countries. They meet up once a year at a conference to exchange views on acquiring, marketing and selling premium real estate in the various different European markets.
Those who took part in the 10th EREN conference declared themselves happy with the results of their cooperation over the previous decade. The three-day exchange focused on particular market developments in the cities of Berlin, Frankfurt/Main, Vienna, Zürich, Valencia, Milan, Marbella and Rome, as well as on the Ticino and Lake Garda regions, the island of Sardinia and on Switzerland. Prices in Vienna have remained stable despite the fact that sales are declining. The Berlin real estate market remains highly attractive - especially to foreign buyers - and prices continue to rise, depending on the location of the real estate. Zabel Property Group's CEO, Thomas Zabel, confirmed this: "In 2013, 60 per cent of our buyers came from abroad; this year the proportion has already risen to 75 per cent." Other markets face entirely different challenges. The Swiss real estate market is dominated by uncertainty, with prices for luxury real estate falling back sharply as a result of a series of legislative changes and the abolition of banking secrecy.
EREN's objectives for 2015 are to continue growing and to acquire new member organizations and brokers.
The European Real Estate Network is a pan-European network of independent real estate organizations. It was founded in Rome in 2004.
